Community Service Hours for Graduation
In Santa Barbara Unified, our local graduation requirements include the completion of 60 hours community service and/or unpaid internship hours:

Community Service Awards
Community Service Excellence Award
  • Awarded to students who have completed over 200 hours of community service and/or unpaid internship. Hours must be submitted by May 1 of a student's senior year to qualify. 

Principal's Community Service Award
  • Awarded to students who have completed over 500 hours of community service and/or unpaid internship. Hours must be submitted by May 1 of a student's senior year to qualify. 
Horas de Servicio Comunitario para la Graduación
En Santa Barbara Unified, nuestros requisitos locales de graduación incluyen la realización de 60 horas de servicio comunitario y/o horas de prácticas no remuneradas:

Premios de Servicio Comunitario
Premio de Excelencia de Servicio Comunitario
Otorgado a los estudiantes que han completado más de 200 horas de servicio comunitario y / o prácticas no remuneradas. Las horas deben ser presentadas antes del 1 de mayo del último año del estudiante para calificar. 

Premio del Director al Servicio Comunitario
Otorgado a los estudiantes que han completado más de 500 horas de servicio comunitario y/o prácticas no remuneradas. Las horas deben ser presentadas antes del 1 de mayo del último año del estudiante para calificar.

  • If there is a non-profit that is not on this list, you are still welcome to volunteer there. Please confirm with them that the organization is a certified non-profit.


Internships / PrActicas 

Internship Definition and Requirements:
1) Internship must be un-paid 
2) Internship must be at a safe and appropriate environment determined by College & Career Center and Administration
3) To receive credit for an internship, total hours must equal or exceed 60 hours at the same location

Definición y requisitos de las prácticas:
1) Las prácticas deben ser no remuneradas 
2) La pasantía debe realizarse en un ambiente seguro y apropiado determinado por el College & Career Center y la Administración
